Happy Holidays

This is truly my favorite time of the year! We’re in the midst of the holidays and it’s time for movies, music, dancing, sparkling lights, good food, family, friends and Jolly Ole St. Nick to make his grand appearance.

Is it me, or do most people seem to be in a good mood this time of the year? Makes me wonder why they can’t continue to be in this happy place the rest of the year. The holidays have a way of bringing its own magic into people’s lives.

I know money isn’t plentiful for most but money isn’t everything. Just think, when you were a child and gave your mother a gift you made or bought at your school’s Santa Shop that wasn’t all that great but she still has it to this day and loves it! That lets you know the holidays are not all about money. Instead it’s about love and goodwill towards men.

I personally like to reflect during this time of year about the energy I put out into the universe. The holidays are a great time for me to do this because I’m in a festive state of mind. I’m all about spreading joy to the world and seeing everyone happy. During this time, it’s good to be honest with yourself and be ready to make changes for the better so your upcoming year can be prosperous. Others can assist in your happiness but you’re the driving force.

Think about the movie Scrooge. It took something dramatic to get the character to take a look at himself in-order to change for the better. Unlike Scrooge, I don’t want to have to be visited by three ghosts that I’m sure will scare the heck out of me in order to live my life right. I would much rather self-reflect and get it right now.

Take some time and figure out how you can make the holidays joyous. Joy comes from within and that’s an easy way to share holiday cheer. A smile, hello or just holding the door for someone can really make their day. Pay it forward by paying for the person’s in back of you, coffee or dinner. Invite someone you know is alone this holiday for dinner or buy an extra toy to put in the Toys for Tots box.

It’s truly the little things people do at this time of the year that makes this season special. Life is short so whenever you can find reasons to be happy and live life to the fullest, I say go for it. If you really want to know, I think we should treat every day as a holiday. No one knows what each day will bring but if we stay in a holiday frame of mind, at least you will awaken joyful.

My advice is to try and find your happy place this holiday season. Try looking in a child’s eyes to see the excitement of the dancing lights and how much joy he or she has in their heart around this time. Hopefully, joy will rub off on you. Happy Holidays!
