Tiny 2.0

A few years ago, I blogged about my favorite fur baby, Tiny!

Tiny is a 140-pound rottweiler, who I love very much. She’s nine and slowing down, but my girl still has personality. It’s funny how dogs develop their own characteristics.

Dogs may not be able to talk, but my Tiny still communicates with me and my favorite guy. We know when she wants her treats, belly rubbed, needs to go out or wants our complete attention. The way she communicates through her eyes and body language is truly amazing.

My girl even has the concept of time, because she keeps a strict daily routine. When it’s time for my favorite guy to come home from work, she’ll rise, wagging her tail like crazy and go sit in front of the door to lookout and wait on him to arrival. She’ll also go sit by the grill whenever the word “cookout” is mentioned. She’ll also sit right in front of us and stare at bedtime.

Tiny is also very much a diva. She’s very picky. The food and treats she likes cannot be substituted for anything else, or she will not eat it. Occasionally, she will make an exception for McDonald’s chicken nuggets. I think she gets that from me, because I’ll make exceptions for nuggets too!

Tiny is still as compassionate to my needs now as she was when she was a puppy. When my mother passed a year and a half ago, I was extremely sad. Tiny sensed my sadness. For days and months, she would follow me around the house. No matter where I parked, she would snuggle as close to my scooter as she could and chill with me. My girl really helped with my grieving process, and I’ll be forever grateful to her for that.

Before Tiny, I liked dogs. After Tiny, I love dogs - especially her. Tiny will never have to want for anything even when she’s being mischievous, because I got her. Her water bowl will never be empty, her treats will always be plentiful, and she will know that she is loved for as long as she lives. She may be big in size but to me, she’ll always be my Tiny!
