The Magic of Frosty

One thing I like during the holiday season is watching movies. I love Rudolph the Red Nosed Reindeer and it will always be one of my favorites, but this year, I thought I’d give Frosty the Snowman a little love.

Tiny, “my big ole fur baby” and I watched the lovable snow guy together. Well, I watched while Tiny laid on my feet and slept. My girl’s a great foot warmer! As I paid close attention, I realized how cool Frosty was and the message the movie was trying to get out to the world.

When the holidays come, many are excited, and nothing puts the icing on the cake than that first snow fall. Even I (who does not like being cold) get hyped when I see the first snowfall; especially if it appears during the holiday season. There is just something about seeing it fall so ever softly to the ground. When the snow glistens, it makes me extremely happy. Let’s just face it, snow is magical and peaceful.

Clearly, I’m not the only one who feels this way about the puffy stuff; for the kids in the Frosty movie were feeling this vibe too. As a matter of fact, they decided to build a snowman out of it.

Of course, Frosty (as the kids named him) was already awesome AS IS, still the kids wanted to add a few more things to give him a little more swag. With this, the crew gave him a corn cob pipe and button nose. Plus, two eyes that were made from coal. Frosty was looking good, but when they added the old top hat they found, let’s just say he was runway ready!

As fate would have it, don’t you know, the top hat the kids found had been thrown out by a magician who no longer wanted it.  The hat was magical. Once the kids placed the top hat on Frosty’s head, he started talking, sliding and thumpity, thump, thump all around the town.

Ever heard the saying, people don’t want something until you get it. This is so true because once the magician saw what the hat did for Frosty, he wanted it back.

I’m a firm believer, that when it’s your time to possess gifts that are meant for you, nothing and no one can take them away. Although Frosty went through a lot of trials and tribulations, he ended up with the hat.

What makes this story even better, the magician was rewarded for learning to let go and therefore, he ended up cool too.

To be honest, I really don’t think the hat was the thing that brought Frosty to life. I think it was his willingness to make others happy. You can have all the magic, money, prettiness, etc. in the world, but if you’re not happy and cannot spread happiness, what’s the point?

This holiday season I’m going to take my clue from Frosty. I’m going to laugh, dance, sing and try to spread joy to others. Frosty, thanks for the message of kindness and the magic of the season.

Happy Holidays From:

Shari & Tiny!

I love the winter season and its snow. Looking forward to peeping out of the window and seeing it. I especially go out to make sure the squirrels are feed too. You have just put the song in my mind. Happy Holidays to you and yours.
