A different path to independence

GESMV Developmental Disabilities services

Goodwill Easterseals Miami Valley is the area leader in services for adults with special needs and developmental disabilities. We offer safe, caring, home-away-from-home and person-centered programs for those who want to experience independence in the community. We respect the preferences, choices, abilities and culture of all individuals as they relate to our services. Choose from our flexible scheduling and programming with Door-To-Door Transportation, Personal Care Service and Community-Focused Activities.

All of our programs promote personal growth through a variety of community activities and interactions. The individualized programs are initially built by completing person-centered planning with individuals and their teams to determine what is important to and for the individual.

Community and Job Support

JobCom provides job coaching and retention supports for individuals with developmental disabilities who are employed in the community. Often operating
on a model of 1 job coach per 4 employees at one employment site, Goodwill Easterseals Miami Valley also provides transportation assistance to individuals served through JobCom.
All individuals served through JobCom are independent employees of a company with specific job duties and individual performance expectations. Coaches from Goodwill Easterseals provide coaching and assistance to individuals to meet performance expectations and retain community employment.

For youth, we have a summer employment and community experience program.

Many of our workforce development programs benefiting those with developmental disabilities are referral based. Please contact us for more details.
