The 12th season of the Goodwill Stores Drive to Victory donation program changed its focus this year by inviting local high school marching bands to participate in this unique contest. In true school spirit, the bands along with their communities did not disappoint by producing a record setting season in which they collected a total of 198,613 pounds of used goods, which also included eight cars, two golf carts, and two pianos.
This season’s overall champion was Brookville High School who collected 30,268 lbs. in our final week’s competition against Valley View. Our 2nd place school Beavercreek held on to the lead until the final week with 17,160 lbs. Fairborn High School came in 3rd place this year with 15,075 lbs.
Thank you to all of the high school bands, their parents and booster organizations along with all our local communities for making this program such a huge success.
We would also like to thank our partners Arby’s for their financial support for the weekly and season scholarship prizes and Mike Hartsock and WHIO-TV who have been our media partner for all 12 years.
