Coop’s Movie Scoop “Night School”

Friday is my movie night. It’s a great way to unwind from a long week. I watched a pretty good movie not long ago that had a good message and I think you should add it to your “watch list”; it is Night School!

Night School, stars two of the biggest comedians in Hollywood today, Kevin Hart and Tiffany Haddish.  They are hilarious!

The movie is based around a character named Teddy Walker. Although Teddy looks like he has it going on financially, he’s actually living beyond his means in-order to impress his very successful girlfriend. After a major turn of event, Teddy enrolled in night school in hopes of getting his GED so he can apply for another job before his girlfriend finds out he has lost his old one.

During the night school process, Teddy is forced to revisit why he dropped out of high school. He also reunites with his former bully from his past whom just so happens to be the person who runs the night school and does not want to see him succeed. Lucky, Teddy bumps into a teacher that doesn’t take anyone’s foolishness. She’s not scared of anything and even though her outer exterior seems tough, she has a very good heart.  The teacher wants all of the students to succeed, despite their challenges, and goes above and beyond to help them. While in night school, Teddy links up with other students with their own set of issues and they all form a bond and become friends.

After trying to beat the system and graduate without putting forth the effort; Teddy finally figures out what’s been holding him back and accepts it. Until you accept a problem you have, you can never fix it or find assistances to deal with it.

I must admit, I was pleasantly surprised with this movie. I knew it would be funny because of its featured actor and actress but had no idea it would give off such an important message. No matter who you are, everyone has something to deal with. If you keep running from your issue, eventually it will track you down. You can only hope, when it’s time for you to tackle your issue, you haven’t waited so long that it’s grown to large for you to fix.

This movie reminded me that, it doesn’t matter how long it takes you to accomplish something as long as you get it done. Take it from me, you really need to take the time to watch this movie. It will make you laugh and make your heart happy.
