Medication Disposable Pouches Now Available at Dayton Metro Libraries

The Prevention Team at Goodwill Easter Seals Miami Valley would like to thank the Dayton Metro Library for partnering with the “Medication Safety Campaign”.   Each of the locations of the Dayton Metro Library has a supply of medication disposal pouches in their community resource area along with information on how to safely dispose of medication and how to safely store your medication.  The medication disposal pouch is a safe way to dispose of medications in your home.   The pouches are better than flushing medication because the pouches neutralize the medication.  It is safe for our water and our soil.  Community members visiting one of the participating branches are encouraged to take a medication disposal pouch to use in your home or to give to a neighbor or family member who needs a pouch.   The medication disposal pouches can be found at the following Dayton Metro Library sites:

I work in a Suboxone/Mental Health treatment facility. Often times, medications are discontinued, or clients come in with medications that are no longer ordered. I found your medication disposal pouches and was inquiring how to go about obtaining a moderate quantity, to ensure adequate disposal of medications. I have seen many clients either dump medication into garbage container or just dump medication down commode. I currently have no other options. Any suggestions?
