Holiday Shopping At Your Fingertips

I love shopping!

Shopping for anything is what I do in my past-time and it makes me extremely happy. Many refer to shopping as retail therapy. For those of you who agree, shopping is a time to chill-out and look around for things you want or need. Another cool thing about shopping, sometimes you’ll discover something that wasn’t even on your list. When this happens, I consider my favorite past-time a jackpot experience.

During the height of the pandemic, stores were forced to shut down.  This was to ensure people’s safety and, as a result, my favorite past-time came to a screeching halt.

I’m here to tell you, not being able to shop literally made me sick. I never really thought not being able to shop would have that kind of affect on me. Going to a store of any type, including the grocery store, is what I love to do.

Just when I thought the pandemic took over what I love, I found a silver lining.

Did you know life has a way of making you discover something that has been right underneath your nose? Yep, you guessed it, online shopping became my new friend. Online shopping had always been there, but it didn’t really interest me until I had no other choice.

Because of the pandemic, the level of ease for online shopping became more attractive to me. Businesses knew how people were feeling; so, they went above and beyond to make shopping on their site easier. And the online deals were awesome.

Online shopping filled a void for in-person shopping. By no means has it taken over, but it has helped tremendously. Another great thing about online shopping is it’s very accessible. You can access any site from any piece of technology at your finger tips. It’s also very accessible for those who can’t, or just don’t want to go to the store.

Online shopping is so accessible, you can even order groceries and someone will deliver them too you. There is even several apps to order your favorite foods. I’m in heaven! Food from my favorite restaurants is available now because of online access. Often, individuals with disabilities can’t always get to places to pick-up things they want or need. This issue is mainly due to accessibility and reliable transportation. Now, thanks to online shopping, the doors to opportunities have been opened.  Your wants and needs are limitless.

I started holiday shopping in October and, happy to say, I’m almost done. I’ve been able to shop at many different stores picking unique items for friends and family at great deals all because of online shopping.

Although it seems as if life is returning to “normal” with the world opening back up, I’ll continue with my new past-time of online shopping. When things change, you must adapt. You just might find new ways of doing things that are not that bad. I’ll take shopping anyway I can, even if it’s at my fingertips!

Shari I knew we were related lol. I love a little retail therapy as well. It’s especially fun shopping for others. I’m looking forward to the Secret Santa shopping. You were absolutely right when you mentioned that as the world changes we should learn to adapt. I must admit I’d much rather shop in person however, I welcome this new online experience and am just as excited as you, to find a few rare treasures. Thank you for sharing your experience. You’ll have to let me know some of your favorite sites:).
