Love Is In The Air

Love is a great feeling! It’s even better when it’s reciprocated.

I would wonder if the whole love thing was ever going to work out for me. Don’t get it twisted, I know I’m a fly girl, but I often questioned, would I ever meet a man who was going to love me unconditionally.

The whole love thing and disabilities can often be complicated.

I’m a sucker for a good love story and after learning of Cole and Charisma’s story on Facebook, I was intrigued and wanted to learn more.

After Cole had a devastating dive, which left him paralyzed, he felt that he would never find love. Although, remaining positive, Cole felt women would not look at him as a partner due to his disability.

Cole’s disability made it difficult to do everyday activities such as transferring, dressing, and going to the restroom independently. Due to these difficulties, which laid heavy on Cole’s mind, he really thought love would never come his way.

But Cole met a fantastic woman named Charisma.  He met her at Sheltering Arms, a hospital where Cole went for rehabilitation.  It was a community-based program to help build his strength. Charisma was a rehab tech at the facility, so disabilities were nothing new to her. She was very open and understanding. One day she was asked to interact with Cole and that is when the magic started to happen. Cole and Charisma had met previously, but it wasn’t until later when they noticed each other.

Cole began to turn on the charm with much flirting and just being himself. As a result, Charisma fell under his spell, and they started dating. Eventually, they fell deeply in love.

Of course, the couple had to learn about each other. Charisma had to learn how to care for Cole’s physical needs. In return, Cole had to learn how to attend to Charisma’s emotional needs. A relationship is a partnership. It only works for the good when two people understand each other’s needs and wants.  They need to work diligently making sure both are taken care of.

Cole and Charisma got married in 2020. Their love for each other is true and their story is just another example that there is love out there for everyone.

As for me, I didn’t find love, it found me and it’s everything I hoped and prayed for. My favorite guy and I recently celebrated our 10th anniversary as soulmates on January 30th. Although I was 42 when we met, the love that we share is right on time. Let me encourage you, if you haven’t found love yet, don’t give up for it’s out there.

Happy Valentine Day! Enjoy one of our favorite songs.

I’m so happy for you that you and your partner have built a love that will last. Love is definitely in the air. I’m a firm believer that if you ever have the opportunity to experience such greatness, hold on with all your might. Shari check out Winston and Mayfair (The Clements) on YouTube.
