Celebrate Earth Day with Goodwill

Earth Day is celebrated this Saturday, April 22nd. Started in 1970, when the word “environment” was not necessarily in the forefront of people’s minds, the public began to be more aware of the link between pollution and public health. And, the movement toward a more environmentally-friendly world began.

Earthday.org notes “Earth Day 1970 gave voice to that emerging consciousness, channeling the energy of the anti-war protest movement and putting environmental concerns on the front page.”
We at Goodwill welcome the annual celebration as another reminder to each of us that we can make a difference. Each time you donate and shop at our local Goodwill stores you are keeping those items out of the waste stream and helping our environment one item at a time.
